MASSACRE AND PILLAGE.
London, May 26. Tho Turkish soldiery in Crete arc massacring and pillaging the Christians without restraint. 'The Consuls have cabled for warships. Anarchy reigns in Canon, the chief commercial town of the island, and ltetinm, another of the principal towns. Sharp fighting is reported to have taken place at Varuos. The British fleet has sailed from Malta, and the French are sending ships to the scene.
