Mr E. M. Smith, A1.1i.K., writes hopefully from England of his prospects of forming a company. He had a pleasant trip Homo, and shortly after arrival interviewed the linn of Siemens Bros., who expressed their astonishment at his samples. Three ol the leading metallurgists of England had also inspected them, and were equally surprised that such specimens could he turned out in New Zealand. A t the time of writing ho had arranged to deliver an address at the Iron and Steel Institute, and was also arranging lor an interview with one of the Rothchilds. On the whole, he was very sanguine of success in his mission.
