Our Dunedin correspondent sends us the following, dated May 2Gth : —Messrs Barnett and Grant, turf commission agents, report that owing to the interest taken in tho Birthday and Tradesmen’s double and the desire to see the nominations before doing further business, betting on the New Zealand Cup has been very quiet since their last report. They have, however, laid the following wagers:
1000 to 10 Belligerent 500 250 250 200 8 Lady Zetland The winning double Quiltiri and Maremma for Birthday and Tradesmen’s Handicaps was picked by a well-known Christchurch owner, tho price taken being £IOO to 3 sovs.
