Tho master of the Central School, Now Plymouth, is not, it seems, tin only school teacher in tho Colony who makes nows of tho day a subject for daily lessons. Having read the Times paragraph on tho matter Mr Charles R. Joplin, of the Maurioovillo West School, writes stating that ho not only roads leading facts, An., but lias also shown tho scholars the Illustrated London News for the last six months, so that they not only hoar of but see pictures of passing events. Mr Joplin adds that it is ono of the best methods ho knows for teaching modern history and geography.
