At the monthly meeting of the Ilutfc County Council on Tuesday, a letter was received from the Horowhenua County Council asking that delegates bo appointed to confer and arrange details as to the raising of a loan to complete a road from Waikanao Railway Station to the.Rikircngi settlement. Tho matter was left in tho hands of Councillor Field, as was also an application from Mr 11. Elder that the causo of the obstruction on the HuttWaikanae road be removed. Mr J. Mitchell waited on the Council and asked that tho drain in front of his property at Porirua should be cleared out. He complained that tho roadman in tho district was getting metal from a distanco when it could bo got nearer home, and that one of the settlers in his district was receiving M per year for keeping a road which was for his own convenience, it was decided to leave these matters in the hands of the Councillor for tho riding and the Inspector. A letter from Mr 11. H. Travers, Paraparaumu, was received, in which ho complained of tho manner in which stormwater drainage had been carried out under the direction of Councillor Field.
