LADIES' CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION.
The annual mcetin<r of the Ladies' Christian Association was held in the Girls' Friendly Society's Lodge, last week, Mrs FitzGcrald (president) in the chair. The annual report of the committee, which was presented by Mrs Fitz Gerald, staled that tho Association assisted largely in. if not entirely, clothing the children boarded out. Mis' Annie Anderson had been in- ! deudu'ttblc in visiting. The committee would like to see a creche established. Uejrret was expressed at the retirement from the committee of Mrs YV. W. iviiowles, Mrs I'iu-tniann and Mrs Phillips. Miss Ilowdcn made a donation of £8 to the funds. About 100 articles had been cut out daring the year, the work being done by .Mrs Annie Anderson and Mrs Petherick. The Sixpenny Club was an important part of the Association, this being under the management of Mrs Mdward Anderson. In fiie annual report of tho committee of the Alexandra Home refercuco was made to the nxe, ilent work done by the matron (Miss Finch.) and sub-matron (MLs Watt). The thanks of the committee were due to Dr Kwari. who attended all cases of illness at the Home, and Archdeacon t-tnek for holding services on Sunday. The receipts were J.".);" 13s'Id, including"A'lo! Is lid, balance from lastvear. and the expenditure MM los 2d, leaving a credit balance of .£299 (J 5 2d. The receipts for the Cottngo Home for Girls were aiIUTS !os, and the expenditure £~>~>C} "»s sd, leaving a credit balance of .£1122 N 7d.
The different reports and balance-sheet were adopted.
Mrs Annie Anderson was elected a trustee of the Association in the place of Mrs S. Vermeil, and Mesdamcs Hourko, Von Dalelzen and Whitehouso members of the committee. Mrs Annie Anderson was also elected a trustee of the Alexandra Home, Mrs C. Izard lion treasurer, and Mesdames Hall and Clere members of the committee.
