TRADES COUNCIL.
The weekly meeting of the Trades Council •was beld last night, Mr A. Collins in the chair. In reply to a letter from Now South Wales, enquiring on bohalf of the Illawarra Miners Association for somo reliable trade organisation whsreby contributions might bo transmitod to the Brunner Fund, it was resolved to ask that they be sent to the Wellington Trades Council, who will forward them to the proper authorities. The deputation appointed to wait on the Australasian Institute of Marine Engineers Teportod on the question of the affiliation that the representatives of the Institute woind jrecommend that the matter should be subanittod to ballot. The deputation appointed to wait on the Tailoresses' Union reported that, owing to the inclement weather, the meeting, aftor making jßomo arrangements, was adjournod for a fortnight.
