The assets of the various banks doing business in this Colony for the quarter ending 31st March List was £1b'.U21,(!87 7s lOd, and the liabilities 015,171,159 Us Id. The assets were :—Coined gold and silver and other coined metal, .£3,179,925 lis ;jrohl and silver in bullion or bars. <£ 105,115 Us 3d; notes and bills of other banks, .£1(1,029 9s Id ; balances due from other banks, i;23,713 Ss 11; landed property, .£10181') lis 3d; notes and bills discounted, £1,73d,258 Is lOd ; colonial Government securities, .£303,418 ISs sd; debts due to tho bank, exelusive of debts abandoned as bid £9,003,533 3s 3d; securities not included under other heads £1,030,511 15s 41. The following were the liabilities : —-Notes in circulation, £9>9,i..8l ti; KM ; bills in circulation. £-".0.3Pj ds7d; balances due to other banks, £32,155 13s Id; Government deposits. £1,214,197 2s 2d; deposits not bearing interest, £5,157,295 19s 8d ; deposits bearing interest, £8,090,513 7a 9d.
