THE FAIR RENT BILL.

A deputation of half-a-dozen citizens waited on the Minister of Lands at Dunedin to discuss the Fair Rent Bill. They brought before the Minister several instances of alleged hardship by tenants having to pay rents that were too high without any chance of obtaining redress. Tho Minister said ho had introduced a Fair Rent Bill last session which provided that both landlord and tenant should havo the right of appeal, lie was glad to see so many taking an interest in the matter, because ho had been accused cf bringing forward questions that did not interest many people. Next session ho would introduce tho Bill again, and they could depend ho would do Ins best to pass it. The Bill could bo amended when its faults were found out after practical experience.
