Adelaide, April 2G. Great interest is being taken in the elections, owing to the women’s vote, and the polling is very heavy. Excepting at West Adelaide, where Mr Kingston (the Promier) and Mr Bachelor (Labour representative) have been elected, and at East Adelaide, where Mr Scherk (Ministerialist and chairman of the Labour Party) has also boon returned, none of the returns are complete. Adelaide, April 27. Ministers profess to bo well satisfied with the result of the elections. With the support of the Labour Party, they claim that they will have an absolute majority in the House. The members of the Government have all secured seats, while the Opposition is in danger of losing Sir John Downer's seat for B.trossa. At Mount Barker, Dr Cookburn (Minister for Education) and Mr Landseer (who represented the district for 21 years) triumphed over Mr Mouldeii (formerly Attorney-General). The newly enfranchised women polled heavily. As to tho referendum, on the question of Bible reading in schools, the result is not yet known.
