THE TROUBLE IN THE BOOT TRADE.

Sydney, April 27.

At a meeting of the Bootmakers’ Union it was decided to call out in the morning all the men ill the factories where the masters had not been notified of the intention to continue working under the present statement.

About 1500 men will be aifected. The diiliculty has been brewing a long time on the question of wages. Sydney, April 28.

Matters connected with the boot strike are much complicated so far, owing to the Union agreeing to accept either written or verbal assurances of both the associated and non-associated masters of their intention to adhere to the present statement as to wages.

The strike is only partial, there being a few hundred men out.

There is groat want of unanimity among the masters to enforce the decision not to recognise the oxisting statement.
