ORCHESTRAL SOCIETY. Tlieannu.il mooting of Hie Wellington Orchestral .Society was hold last week ill the Dresden Piano Company’s rooms. Mr B. It would he necessary to increase the roll of honorary members, which now stands at 117, if the sound financial position of the Society was to be maintained. There were dS members in the orchestra, but more good strings, especially ’cellos and basses, were needed. The average attendance at the rehearsals bad not been satisfactory. The balance-sheet showed the receipts to have been AlUo Is lid, including a sum of Ao IPs (id brought forward from last year, and the expenditure X 157 Us 11d, leaving a balance of AS Us 7d.
