LATE KENNEL ITEMS.
The collie bitch British Venus, the property of Messrs Triggs and Bligh, has ■whelped six dog and three bitch puppies to Champion Laird of Wyoming, of which rive dogs and two bitches survive. The dam is nominated for the Wellington Kennel Club's Produce Stakes, 1596. Mr Redmond's fox terrier bitch Dame Fortune, by Despoiler, again won the 50-guinea Challenge Cup at the Fox Terrier Club's Show at Derby, beating everything easily. Champion Harewood Terror and the bitch Torment, locally owned, are to all intents and purposes full brother and sister in blood to this renowned bitch. The secretary of the Wellington Kennel Club is awaiting the receipt of news from Dunedin anent the New Zealand Kennel Club before calling another meeting of the Wellington Kennel Club. I learn that the fox terrier bitch Acton Lily, imported by Mr 11. Stevens, senr., of Napier, has at lived in Auckland safely with a litter of puppies comprising one dog and one bitch. The bitch is reported to be good in bone, shape and size, but lacking in head properties. She is remarkably well bred, and Mr Stevens is to be congratulated upon his venture. The bitch will be quarantined in Auckland.
