The fortnightly meeting of the Benevolent Trustees was held on Tuesday afternoon, the Bev H. Van Staveren presiding. The other Trustees present were Messrs G. H. Baylis J. Collins, F. Bradey, S. Lancaster. A number of applications for relief were dealt with. A young married woman whose husband had left her was sent back to her parents in Greymouth. Another woman with four children asked to be sent to Auckland where her husband now is. Her request was.granted, providing that she can prove that her husband ia in a position to maintain her. There are now, 84 inmates in the Benevolent Homo —25 'females and 59 males,
