FEILDING CYCLING CLUB SPORTS.

The second annual sports iieeting of the above Club was held on the Feilding Oval on Anniversary Day, and despite the threatening aspect of t,he weather, there were a thousand spectators present. The sports were a thorough success, but the results financially were not so good as was expected. Competitors from the different centres in the Manawatu and Eangitikei districts were present, while A. R. Barker, the speedy Christchurch rider, and A. C. Forbes, of Taranaki, also competed. Some of the events produced first-class racing* and exciting finishes, but two or three of the races . wejce--maxred by croppers. The value of the prize-money and trophies won at the meeting amounted to .£54 14s. Following are the results:— One-mile Maiden. —W. P. Morphy, 200yds, 1; E. W. Barnett, 140yds, 2j F. B. Hartstone, 105yds, 3. Thirteen others started. Morphy, on the limit mark, kept his lead all the way and won by five yards. Half - mile Handicap. —T. Kitchen, 30yds, 1; A. E. Hobbs, 40yds, 2; J. H. Mingins, 20yds, 3. Ten others started, including A. R. Barker, who owed 50yds anc ran into 'fourth place.
