Wilson, pretty light gown trimmed with silk, small black straw hat with lace wings and cream rosettes ; Miss Dransfield, brown tailor-made jacket and skirt, heliotrope blouse and pretty green and heliotrope toque; Mrs Beddard, white striped pompadour silk trimmed with cornflower blue chiffon ruches, small toque with cornflowers ; Miss Beddard, cream figured silk trimmed with ecru lace and pale green satin, large white hat with white tips and pink roses; Miss Cooper wore a pretty white gown, striped with .black, and trimmed with black satin, and small light floral hat; Miss Taylor, a late arrival from England, wore a pretty brown costume, trimmed with ecru lace and yellow silk; Mrs W. Hey wood, pretty white gown and small black hat, trimmed with cornflowers.; Miss Duthie, electricblue crepon and large black feathered hat; Miss Kebbell, grey gown, trimmed with silk, black and pale green hat; Mrs Ross, handsome black brocade, black bonnet, with cream tips; Miss Ross, cream cloth, prettily trimmed with yellow silk and deep cream lace, black picture hat, with cream roses; Miss Joseph wore a' pretty cream costume; Miss Dyer, pink muslin spotted with white and trimmed with white lace and ribbon, small pink straw hat, trimmed with wings and flowers. Mr and Miss Pearce entertained a large number of their friends at "afternoon tea*" last Saturday afternoon. It was originally intended to be a garden party, but owing to the high w'ind blowing, most of the guests remained indoors.
