Wellington, January 28. There was a very large attendance at the races on Cup Day, last Wednesday, although the weather was not as pleasant as it might have been. Some very pretty frocks were worn on this occasion, so I must set to work and tell you about them. Miss Pearce wore a handsome dark red and cream figured gown, which, at a little distance, had. a pretty shot appearance, it was trimmed with lace, and she wore a pretty brown and green bonnet; Mrs Collins, a stylish black gown trimmed with silk, short circular cape of sealskin, and large black hat with feathers ; Mrs Abbott, a pruce-coloured gown with wide revers of cream figuered silk, cream bonnet with pink roses; Mrs C. Johnston, dark blue and white figured silk prettily trimmed with white lace and blue ribbons, black hat trimmed with flowers and pink wings ; Mrs H. D. Bell looked very nice in a light mouse-coloured gown the bodice brightened with pale blue silk, small floral bonnet; Mrs H. D. Crawford, white duck skirt and full blouse bodice of white muslin trimmed with ecru lace, small black straw hat with sprays of mauve shaded flowers; Mrs Friend, black lustre lace mantle and large black lace hat with pretty soft green feathers; Miss Friend, pretty white gown and white hat trimmed with black satin ribbons and white wings;
