London, January 20. At the wool sales, competition continues spirited, with prices hardening. London, January 21. At the Bradford wool sales the prices realised were the highest of the series, many lots being disposed of at a slight advance on the last top rates. The wool market continues firm at full prices. London, January 22. At the wool sales the best greasy merinos are in good demand by American buyers at kl above the December rates ; medium £d to £d higher; and scoured, Id higher. Crossbreds are very firm. London, January 23. The wool market continues firm at an advance in prices. At the wool sales, competition continues animated. Prices are hardening, and show a tendency to increase. London, January 21. At the wool salos a choice selection was offered, and sold at top prices. Continental buyers took the largest proportion, The Bradford market is quiet. The top makers demand Id advance, but the spinners refuse. London, January 25. At the wool sales there is keen competition with a tendency to advance. The present series close on the 30th. London, January 20. Wool is firm and unchanged. A total of 131,800 bales has been catalogued up to date, and 126,600 sold. Christchurch, January 22. The third wool sale of the season takes place on Friday. The number of bales to be offered is 11,471. Christchurch, January 21. The third wool sale of the season was held to-day ; a little over 11,000 bales being offered. There was a large attendance of buyers, and competition was brisk throughout. As compared with the previous sale, crossbreds showed little change, uoarse wools being perhaps a shade better. Merinos, however, showed a distinct advance in values of halfpenny and penny, station clips ranging from 7d to 7 Id. All fellmongers' lots aroused good competition. The bulk of the wool is in good condition, being - light and bright. The prices current for wool in grease were : —Merino —Superior, Sd to 9d ; medium, G£d to 7id ; inferior, . r >d to od. Halfbred —.-superior, BJrd to Hid ; medium to good, 7d to 8d ; inferior, Gd to 6,'d. Crossbred —Superior, to Sid ; medium to good, 7d to Sd ; inferior, 6d to ii'id. Long wool Superior, Sd to BA-d ; medium to good, 7d to 7£d; inferior, 6d to 63-d. Crossbred pieces and bellies, good, 5d to 7d ; crossbred locks, good, 3d to 4d ; merino pieces and bellies, good, 5d to 7d; locks, good, 3d to 4d. Auckland, January 22.

The second wool sale of the season was held to-day. The prices realised are about as follow :—Crossbreds, 6yd to Bg-d ; long wool, 6 T d to 8d ; lambs, 6£d to 7id (one line brought 8.',-d) ; pieces, 4d to 6d.

The next wool sales in Wellington will be held on the 14t-.h February. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, has received the following from its London office, dated 21st January: Wool—Since close of last sales, greasy merino super., scoured merino super., greasy merino medium and inferior, scoured merino medium and inferior, are hd to Id per lb higher ; washed merino super., washed merino medium and inferior, fine t greasy crossbred, are id per lb higher ; greasy merino lambs' super, are id to Id per lb higher ; greasy merino lambs' medium and inferior, greasy crossbred lambs', are id per lb higher; slipe merino since close of last sales are par to id per )b higher. Other descriptions unchanged, 'i he total quantity catalogued to date is 02,000 bales The total quantity withdrawn to date is 3500 bales. Messrs Murray, Roberts and Co. have received the following wool market cablegram from their London house, Messrs Sanderson, Murray and Co., dated 2lst January : Compared with the closing rates of last London sales, greasy merino combing has advanced 5 to 7 per cent. Scoured merino advanced a shade. Greasy and scoured crossbred, fine, show very little change, but, if any, it is slightly downwards, prices being irregular. Greasy crossbred, coarse, has advanced a shade.
