The Minister of Lands issued instructions some time since for the Puhipuhi forest in the North Auckland district to be snrveyed into allotments with a view to the disposal of the rights of cutting timber upon it. The work is now well in hand, and by the time the railway extension to the borders of the forest is finished the Lands Department will be in a position to dispose of the timber.
