Certain Natives north of Auckland have been petitioning the Government to exempt them from the operation of the Bating Act. The Government of course cannot interfere with the operation of the law, but the Hon Mr Carroll has been asked to enquire into the matter, in order to ascertain if the Natives have anything unfair to complain of.
