Day's Bay is evidently becoming a favourite resort for picnickers, and despite tho someAvhat unfavourable Aveatheron the 22nd several hundreds of persons paid it a visit. The Duao, Waihi and Mana had been laid on for the purpose, and were kept busy "conveying" passengers to and from the bay from 9 o'clock in the morning until dark. E\*ery arrangement possible was made by the captains of these vessels for the comfo:t and safety of the excursionists, and the route taken considerably lessoned the change of a Avettino- - the heavy sea that Avas running.
