At a meeting of tho Management Committee of the New Zealand Hugby Union at Mr A. T. Bate's office last Monday, Mr A. T. Bate in the chair, it was resolved unanimously, on the motion of Mr McCardle, seconded by Mr Wesney, that it is desirable that a presentation should be made to Mr E. D. Hoben, late secretary of the New Zealand Union, in recognition of tho very valuable sei vices he has rendered in the formation and successful establishment of the New Zealand Union, and that a sub-committee, consisting of Messrs G. F. C. Campbell, A. T. Bate and the mover, be appointed to draft a circular to the various affiliated unions soliciting their co-operation in tho matter. In regard to the appointment of a successor to Mr Hoben, the actintr-secretary (Mr Do Costa) was instructed to call a special meeting of the Management Committee to discuss the matter as early as possible.
