A correspondent writes : —“ The marriage of Mr J. J. Corry, manager for Messrs Holmes and Co., Blenheim, and Alice Maude Nathan, eldest daughter of Mr Anthony Nathan, the well-known contractor of Palmerston North, took place quietly at the residence of the bride’s father on Monday. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Mr Thompson. The bride, who looked very pretty, was given away by her father, and wore a dress of cream veiling trimmed with surah silk, and the orthodox wreath and veil. She wore a handsome gold bangle, the gift of the bridegroom. The bridesmaid, Miss Nettie Nathan, looked charming in a stylish tweed diess trimmed with shot silk, and a picture hat of white daisies, she also wore a gold cable bangle, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr D. Fuller, the well-known cricketer of Wellington, acted as groomsman. At the conclusion of the ceremony all those present adjourned to the wedding breakfast, which was very tastefully arranged by Mrs Nathan in the dining-room. The Rev. Mr Thomson proposed the health of the bride and bridegroom, followed by numerous others. The newly married couple left by the evening train en route, for their home in Blenheim, amidst showers of rice and good wishes. The bride’s travelling dress consisted of a fawn cloth trimmed with brown velvet, and a stylish hat with fawn and heliotrope shot trimmings.”

My correspondent writes : —“ A pretty wedding took place at Masterton on the 18th instant, when Miss Alice Lethbridge Perry, daughter of the late B. P. Perry of that town, was married to Mr Alfred Avery of the Government Insurance Department, Wellington. The , Misses Florence and Julie Perry acted as bridesmaids, and Mr Frank Holdswortb, of Wellington, was best man. The Rev. R. Wood conducted the ceremony in the presence of a large number of relatives, and two appropriate hymns were sung. The bride wore a dress of white delaine with a tulle veil and a spray of orange blossoms, and the bridesmaids were dressed in white nun’s veiling brightened with ribbons of lavender colour. All the dresses were most becoming, and the bride carried a beautiful shower bouquet ■of white flowers. After a sumptuous wedding breakfast the happy couple left by. the afternoon train for "Wellington, and received a most enthusiastic send off.

A pleasing ceremony took place a few days ago in the Government Insurance social hall, when Mr Alfred Avery was. the recipient of a handsome present in view of his marriage with Miss Alice Perry of Masterton. The gift, which con sistedof a handsome double set of carvers, full set cf cutlery, and a silver sugar basin, was presented on behalf of the staff by the Assistant-Commissioner, Mr I). M. Luckie, in an appropriate speech. Mr Avery suitably responded, and in conclusion hearty cheers were given for him and his bride elect.

Our Carterton correspondent writes : —A very pretty wedding took place at the residence of Mr A. Burling on Thursday, when Alice, his sixth daughter, was united in the holy bonds of matrimony, to Hemy, eldest son of Mr Henry Bayner, of Moreton road, Carterton, the Bev S. J. Gibson officiating. The bride wore a white robe very prettily trimmed with blue, and with the bridesmaids, Miss Bosina Bayner in pink, and Miss Annie Burling in blue, made a very lovely group. The bride was given away by her father. The happy couple left by the afternoon train for Wellington on their honeymoon trip.
