One of the most valued mementoes of tho Auckland election possessed by Mr Thos. Thompson is a large horseshoe ornament, bearing the inscription " good luck," which was presented to him at a meeting of his lady supporters. The horseshoe is covered with creme satin, embroidered with raised rose, thistle and shamrock, and the words "good luck" are handsomely worked in silver in the bend of the shoe, with a bunch, of streamers in red, white and blue ribbons.
The Craigieburn Station of 50,000 acres, in the Selwyn County will be put up for lease for a period of eight years by the Government on 28th August next.
