DESTROYS FLEAS and PARASITES IMMEDIATELY. ALLAYS IRRITATION OF THE SKIN AND REMOVES SMELL. TESTIMONIAL. To Mr Woods, Cuba street,—ln compliance with your request I have given the Kennel Club Dog Soap a thorough trial, and can honestly say it is the best I have ever used. My showing record extends back to the early seventies, during which time I have tried all the soaps in the market. I have prescribed it in two or three bad cases of that have been brought to me, it quickly eradicated the parasite, leaving the skin soft and healthy, and on which the hair was soon renewed. The soap lathers freely, has great cleansing properties, and at the same time is not strongly alkaline or caustic, for unlike most of the dog soaps, its use leaves the coat beautifully soft and with its natural gloss. I may say that I used the soap for Herd wick and Honesty before they went to Auckland and Hawke'a Bay and Palmerston shows, and no doubt it helped them to score first prizes at all places, besides specials. You are quite at liberty to use my name in recommending the soap to any fancier, as I am confident it will give the utmost satisfaction. Believe me, etc., —J. HoniiAx (Messrs Horraxand Harrison, Karori). Procurable only at WOODS', CHEMIST, CUBA STREET, Price ONE SHILLING. Will forward to any part of the Colony on receipt of 12 stamps.

DAWSON'S PERFECTION WHISKY. /* ESOLUTELY pure and free from any deleterious ingredients, as proved by the written testimony of the public analysts of the New Zealand and Australian Colonies.

The first step in connection with the cyanide process case was taken on Tuesday morning-, when an application was made before the Registrar of Patents (Mr C. J. A. Haselden) for amendment of the Cassels Company's specification. Sir Robert Stout and Mr Quick appeared on behalf of the Company, and Mr Stafford and Mr Hall appeared on behalf of the AttorneyGeneral to object. The preliminary point was taken as to whether the Registrar could proceed with the hearing of the application for amendment, seeing that a petition for revocation had been filed, and the argument was confined to this point alone. It was stated in the course of argument that, whatever the decision of the Registrar might be, an appeal by way of special case would be made from his decision to the Supreme Court, and probably from the Supreme Court to the Court of Appeal, the question before each of these Courts to be whether the Registrar should [proceed to hear the amendment while the petition was still pending. Mr Haselden reserved his decision. In the recent Sunday School Union examinations, there were 14 entries from the Danevirke school, and 50 per cent, of passes were gained. A cablegram from Sydney states that the cable -repairing steamer Sherard Osborne left Singapore on AYednesday for New Zealand, via Sydney.
