The sixth International Geographical Congress, to be held in London, will be opened by H.R.H. the Duke of York on July 26th, and will sit till August Srd. We are glad to hear that it is. the intention of our Government to appoint a delegate, as many important, colonial questions will be discu, ssod and ventilated there. The Government offered to nominate Sir Walter Buller to represent this Colony at the Congress,- but that gentleman has written declining, with much regret, the proposed honour, on the ground of his inability to reach England in time for the meeting of that body. The threatened appeal to the Privy Council in the Horowhenua case, in which he is largely concerned, will detain him here some months longer—probably to the end of the session.
