COURT OF APPEAL
In the Court of Appeal on May 16 before the Chief J ustice, Mr Justice Denniston ancl Mr Justice Conolly, Mr Hasolden, on bohalf of the Canterbury Law Society, moved to strike the name of Leonard Harper, late of Christchurch, off the roil of barristers and solicitors of the Supreme Court of Hew Zealand. The motion, he stated, was made upon the same affidavits as were used in the caso of George Harper and Thomas Maude. The motion was granted. The Chief Justice said it was unnecessary to go into the circumstances again. Leonard Harper had had a full knowledge of all that was going’ on, and was the instigator of what had taken place. Mr Haselden asked that 20 guineas costs should be allowed to the Canterbury Law Society. The Court allowed =£lo 10s in addition to the costs of service. . T . Argument in the case of "W ini at a to Whaaro v. Air ini Tonore and another was concluded in the Court of Appeal yesterday week. Judgment was reserved* Argument was commenced in the Supreme Court on Monday before the Chief Justice and Mr Justice Richmond in a case in which the Hastings Borough Council appealed against the decision or Mr Turnbull, S.M. Alfred Masters, hop grower, of Hastings, had brought an action against the Council for £IOO for damage done to his hop-garden through water flowing over it from a Corporation drain. Mr Turnbull, S.M., decided in favour of the plaintiff, and this decision was now appealed against. Messrs U. D. Bell and Loughnan (Napier) represented the appellants, and Mr McLean (Napier) the resjiondent.
