The annual meeting of the Union Debating Club was held last. week in the Exchange Buildings, the president (Mr E. D. Bell) in the chair. The annual report and balance-sheet were adopted, and the officers for the ensuing year elected, as follows :—President, Mr E. F. Hadfield ; vice-presidents, Messrs G-. H. Bethune and C. Dasent; treasurer, Mr E. Fitzgerald ; secretary, Mr H. P. Tuckey; committee, Messrs H. P. Bridge, W. Woon, J. H. Hall and C. L. Stevensc*. A new organ built by Messrs Fincham and Hobday, Melbourne, for the Trinity Presbyterian Church, Nelson, has arrived in Wellington. It is to be erected in the church under the personal supervision of Mr Hobday and the foreman of the firm’s factory in Melbourne, Mr F, Taylor,
