PACIFIC CABLE.
Ministers are in receipt of a communication from the Canadian Government recommending that a, joint Commission should be appointed by the colonies interested and the Mother Country to go into the details oonneeted with the Pacific cable scheme, and suggesting that tha Imperial Government, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand should be represented on, the Commission.
The New Zealand Government have approved of this proposal, and have decided to ask that this Colony, being exceptionally situated, shall have separate representa* tion, and not merely joint representation with Australia.
