The Government intend to offer for sale by auction, on the 15th May, four sections of land adjoining the Cross Creek railway station on the Wairarapa line. The sections range in area from 33 perches to 3 roods 35 perches. On the Ist of May the fee simple of 526 acres, forming part of the Hampshire Hill run, situated 10 miles from Havelock, is to be put up to auction at Blenheim. The Hon Thos. Russell has written from London to the Government, applying that mineral oils required for use in oil engines may be admitted duty free. The Government have decided to refer the matter to the Tariff Commission.
