A general meeting of the members of the Wellington Agricultural and Pastoral Association is to be held at the offices, Featherston street, Wellington, on Wednesday, 13th inst., at noon, to consider alterations and amendments to the rules. Messrs Laery and Co. shipped 39 purebred Lincoln and Romney Marsh rams by the Talune last week consigned to their Sydney agents. These sheep, which are of excellent quality, are from the Wairarapa district, and are sent over as representatives of several lots which are under offer to Sydney buyers. The Hawera Star urges the necessity for a system of dairy inspection. Canada is arranging to ship butter in winter to Liverpool, Glasgow and Bristol, where cold stores will be provided. Government agents will be appointed to sell the butter. A million and a half acres of farm land, hitherto unavailable, was thrown open for selection in Queensland, last week.
