FEATHERSTON.

Featherston, February 28. Last evening a well-attended meeting wrb held in the Oddfellows’ Hall to discuss the ways and means of obtaining a ~ resident medical man for Featherston. It was intimated that Hr Lamb, late of Petone, was willing to come if a guarantee of j 6200 for the first year would be given. Over ,£63 was guaranteed in the room, and a strong committee was formed to canvass the whole district. It is thought there •will be no difficulty in obtaining the re--1 competition for the Wairarapa Rifle Association’s bronze medal A. Yule and T Sinclair tied at 168, and on firing off ' Sinclair made 21 and A. Yule 22, the latter . thus winning the medal.
