THE EGMONT MEETING. Hawera, February 14. The Egmont races were concluded today. There was lovely weather and a large attendance.
Flting Handicap, six furlongs.—Orion, by Castor—Nymph, 7st 91b, 1; St. Laura, 7st 101 b, 2 ; St. Clements, 9st 61b, 3. Also started—Krina, 7st 71b ; Donovan, 7st 41b. Won by two lengths. Time, lmin 16 3-ssec. Dividend, £5. Second Hurdle Handicap, two miles and a distance. —Bonovoree, by the Mute— Maid of All Work, 9st 91bl 1 ; Tiritea, 12st 41b, 2; Belle, 9st lib, 3. Also started —Kapua, lOst lllb; Rangipai, lOsfc 101 b ; Marechal Niel and Conscript, 9st. Bonovoree won by a length. Time, 4min 11 3-ssec. Dividend, .£4 2s. Conscript fell at the third hurdle, and Cocker, the rider, had his thigh dislocated. The sum of .£25 was collected for him on the ground. Hack Hurdle Race, one mile and a half.—Dart, by Gipsy King—Treason mare, lOst 131 b, 1; Egmont, lOst 131 b, 2; Cloudshot, 9st 41b, 3. Waverley (9st 71b) also ran. Won hard held by a length and a half. Time, 2min 55sec Atkinson Memorial Stakes, of 200 sovs; one mile and a half.—Ben Godfrey, by St. Leger—Welcome Katie, 7st 91b, 1; Prioress, 7st 71b, 2; Monte Carlo, Bst 81b, 3.
