LOAN AND MERCANTILE COMPANY.
HEAD-QUARTERS REMOVED TO • WELLINGTON. It has been common talk in Wellington for some time past that the head-quarters of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company were about to be re<moved from Auckland to Wellington, but it was not until yesterday that the directors definitely decided on taking this step. As a consequence of this arrangement, several leading legal firms in Auckland have resolved to opon branches in Wellington for the convenience of their clients. Mr W. G. Foster, who has resigned his position as manager of the Company in Wellington, will be replaced by Mr T. H. Hanna, who was connected with the head oilico of the Company for many years, and also with the offices a.t Gisborne, Napier and Blenheim, having managed the branch at the latter place for many years.
