THE FORESTERS.
At the annual district meeting of delegates of 1.0.0. F. Manchester Unity, in the Oddfellows' Hall, Featherston, Pro. Grand Master Mothes presided. Delegates from the , following lodges were present : Britannia (5), Antipodean (2), Eose of the Valley, Kainapoura, Rose of Sharon, Hearts of Oak,Greytown North, St. George's, petono, Combination, Eketahuna, Martinborough, Unity (2). An apology through illness was received for non-attendance from the Masterton delegate. The Pro. Grand Master delivered a lengthy address, in the course of which he said that 108 members had been admitted during the past year. A congratulatory telegram was sent to Bro. Jas. Smith on attaining his 81st birthday, he having been 54- years in the order. The following officers were elected : —Pro. Grand Master, P.G. G. Jorden, D.G.M. ; Pro. D.G.M., P.G. Joseph Av«jry ; Pro. D. Warden, P.G. R. Smith; Pro.* Treasurer and Believing Officer, P.P.G.M. T. McKenzie; Auditor, W. Guise; Book Examiners, P.P.G.M. S. ■Waiters'and Pro. C.S. J. Kershaw ; Arbitrators, P.P.G.M.'s T. McKenzie, S. Waters, S. W. Brown, S. R. Johnson, G. E. Gober, I. Clark, W. Guise, D. P. Loasby, J. J. Webb, P.G.'s J. Smith, jun., J. Riddick and O. Daley. It was resolved that the next district meeting be held at the Loyal Combination Lodge, Johnsonville, on the-second Thursday in Jdebruary, 1896. The sum of .£lO was granted to the Petone Lodge, for the wife of a deceased brother. The executive were given power to send a delegate to a conference to deal with clearance surrender values, should a conference be held. It was resolved that Bro. P.G. P. Smith be presented with a P.S. jewel as a token of the high appreciation of his past services as district warden. It was resolved that the committee of management should be empowered to get a frame, and place it in the lodge room in Wellington, for photos of past grand masters and other provincial 'officers. P.P.G.M. D. P. Loasby installed the newlyelected officers. It was resolved that the retiring Prov. G.M., R. Mothes", receive the Prov. Past Grand Madters's Degree, his name to be placed on the merit board, and that he be presented with a P.P.G. Master's jewel. In the evening the delegates were entertained with a dinner in the To *rn Hall. Brother Jordon occupied the chair,, and was Supported on the right by Bros Mothes and Kershaw, on the left by Mr Buchanan, M.H.R., and Dr Bey. During the evening P:P.G.M. Bro. Waters presented P.P.G.M. Bro. Mothes with a P.P.G.M. jewel.
