THE LIGHTING OF WELLINGTON.
At the meeting of the City Council last week the following recommendations from the Public Works Committee were adopted:— 1. That the Electric Light Committee be instructed to consider the whole matter of the present position of the contract for lighting the streets of the city, and report to the Council meeting ontha 28th instant. 2. That the fine provided for in the electric light contract be imposed on the Electric Light Company for failing to light the street lamps on Sunday night last.
