Some better means of securing ventilation in the dress circle at the Opera House could surely be devised f than the plan adopted on Saturday night, when the doors at the entrance to the circle were kept wide opeh throughout the evening, with the result that one of the audience at least found himself next day ill from severe influenza.
The special excursion train on the Manawatu line on Monday to Shannon and intermediate stations was well patronised, upwards of 300 passengers taking advantage of the cheap fares. The majority of these went to Paikakariki, Otaki and Shannon
