CONGREGATIONAL UNION.

At th© Congregational Union, in view of the elosing of the jubilee, it was agreed that the Union Committee correspond with friends in England on the advisability or possibility of securing a visitor to the New Zealand churches. Resolutions were carried condemnatory of the drink traffic. An extended scheme for a sustentation fund, submitted by Mr F. G. Craig, was referred to the District Committees. The following office-bearers were elected: —RevW. M. Tell (Ravensbourne), chairman, for the next conference; W. H. Lyon (Auckland), treasurer; John Bowden (Auckland), secretary; Jonathan Elkin (Auckland), auditor ; and Rev C. Bradbury (Wellington), registrar. The following were appointed the committee :—Auckland, Revs G. Burgess and F. "Warner, Messrs O. Patterson, E. Wood, J. E. Moore, G. Fowlds, J. E. Hall and Captain Daldy 5 Wellington district, Reva J. Reed Glasson, B. T. Hallowes, E. C, Isaac and Mr A. W. Lindsay j Canterbury, Revs S. J. Baker, J. Sarginson, G. Williams and Mr A. W. Beaver $ Otago, Revs W» Saunders, B. K. Fisher and Messrs F. Coull and J. W. Jago k It was remitted to the incoming commit* tee to decide where the next year s eouncil meeting shall be held*
