SUPREME OOURT.
Our Hastings correspondent states that Judge Edgar delivered judgment on Saturday morning in the Timahanga case. The Court decided not to divide the block by the estimated acreage, but to divide it into
100 shares. The block contains 22,000 acres, and is allotted as follows :To Anaru Te Wanilcau Horiana Maraea Puri, 25 shares; to Hoana Papaka and 28 others, 35 shares; to Arini te Nore (Airs Donnelly) and 19 others, 18 shares ; to Inia Maru and seven others, eight shares; to Urepene Tangatako and Katerina Nahu, two shares ; to the direct descendants of Te Ahunga and Tokorau (10 persons), 11 shares. Civil sittings of the Supreme Court will begin this year on the following dates: — Alarch 4th, June 3rd, August sth, November 18th. The dates fixed for the criminal sittings are : —Alarch 4th, June 3rd, August sth and November 18th.
The Chief Justice on Tuesday reinstated the following cases, in tho Supreme Court civil list: —Essex v. Wiremu Pohe, Elkington v. Phoenix Insurance Company, and Squire and another v. Tennant and others. Timaru, February 5.
At the Supreme Court to-day, the Grand Jury threw out the bill in the Franz shooting case, in which Schnier, second mate of the barque Franz, was' charged with shooting Ernest Thompson. No bill lias beeu returned in tho Waimate murder case.
