Mr E. M. Smith, M.H.R., informs ns that the negotiations he has been carrying on for two years past to obtain a lease of the ironsand beach at New Plymouth are likely soon to be crowned with success. If ha accomplishes his purpose he will at once issue the prospectus .of a company, to be called the National Engineering, Mining/ Iron-smelting and Manufacturing Company, the proposed capital to be .£60,000 in .£1 shares. Its object will be to purchase the ironworks at Onehunga and shift them to New Plymouth, which will be the Company’s headquarters.
