A cow which had strayed on to the railway line near the bridge over the Makino was struck by an engine on Tuesday night, hurled over the bridge and killed. A man named Power was picked up at Temuka in the river-bed with a broken thigh. He had fallen off the bridge during the night. In Norway the trend of the recent elections seems very much towards, separation from Sweden.
