Tuesday, the 22nd; inst., is to be a bank holiday in Wellington. We understand that the Government will notify the Manawatu Railway Company before the end of the present month of its intentions with respect to the acquisition of the Manawatu railway. The weather in Wellington and in the country districts on Tuesday was oppressively hot. The matters are however, still incomplete. *
