The first round of matches in the competitions for Sargoocl and Co.'s cup, the president's prize and the vice-president's prize by members of the Wellington Bowling Club are now all but complete. The results so far are as follow: — Sargood and Co.'s Cup.—Geddis beat T. Scoullar by 21 to 13, Lonsdale beat Bush by 21 to 18, Waddell beat Riley by 23 to 13, Haselden beat E. W. Petherick by 21 to 16, Lockie beat J. Blundell by 21 to 5, Maudsley obtained a bye from Sample, Ballinger beat Boyes by 21 to 12, Gray beat Haybittle by 21 to 20, A. Campbell beat Drummond by 21 to 7. J. P. Campbell, Whitehouse, L. Blundell, Matheson and Yates obtained byes. G-. S. White has yet to play Tustin, and McKee to play Jones.
President's Prize.—Mentiplay beat Whitehouse by 21 to 19, D. McLean beat Maudesley by 21 to 16, Matheson beat Tustin by 21 to 19, Riley beat Plimmer by 21 to 20, Bush beat Miller by 22 to 4, L. Blundell beat G. S. White by 21 to 16, Ballinger beat Haybittle by 21 to 18, Churchward beat McKee by 21 to 6, Haselden beat Boyes by 23 to 5, King beat J. P.
