DATES OF NOMINATIONS, WEIGHTS AND ACCEPTANCES. MONDAY, JANUARY 14th, 1895.—Nominations close for all events, except tlie Consolation, at 10 p.m. THURSDAY, JANUARY 24th, 1895. Weights declared, at 9 p.m. FRIDAY, .JANUARY 25th, 1895.— Acceptances close for all events, except the Consolation, at 12 o’clock upon. RULES AND REGULATIONS. All races will be rim under the “New Zealand Rules of Racing,” as adopted by the Metropolitan Club. >. No entry will be received for any race except upon the condition that all claims, disputes and objections shall be decided by a majority of the stewards present or whom they may appoint, and their decision on all points shall be final. All protests must be accompanied with a deposit of 2 sovs, which sum shall be forfeited to the fund if the protest is not sustained. # ' All nominations, entries, acceptances, etc., accompanied by the necessary amount payable, must be in the hands of the Secretary at the Central Hotel, Lower Hutt, not later than 10 p.m. (unless stated to the contrary) on the advertised dates of closing. Horses walking over will receive 50 per cent, of the stakes. Any horse winning a race at this, or any previous meeting subsequent to the declaration of weights, to be subject to re-handicap-ping. All persons intending to withdraw horses are required to give notice to that effect ,to the Secretary, or the Clerk of the Scales, one half hour before the official time for starting such race. Any person neglecting, or refusing to comply with, this rule, shall pay a fine, to be imposed by the Stewards, not exceeding 20 sovs, to the race fund. Prior to any race the Stewards may order a parade in front of the stand. Any horse absent from such parade, without the permission of the Stewards, will be fined 2 sovs. Persons desirous of being registered as gentlemen riders are referred to Rules 181 and 182 “ Rules of Racing.” All horses must be ridden in colours. Any jockey riding except in the colours entered will be fined 3 sovs.

Any owner failing to declare his colours at time of entry will be fined 2 sovs, unless the colours of the owner of the horse are duly registered. When two or more horses start the property of the same owner, a distinguishing colour must be declared on entry day and worn. Any person neglecting this rule will be fined 2 sovs. • 'AvV- I'.',' 1 '.',' No owner will be permittedvto use the registered colours of another owner without special permission. The Stewards reserve the right to "alter the dates of the meeting, the amount of added money, or make any additions or alterations to the meeting at any time prior to nominations being due for such meeting, subject to the approval of the Metropolitan Club.
