THE New Zealand Mail. PUBLISHED WEEKLY. FRIDAY, DECEMBER 21, 1894. THE DRAINAGE OF PETONE.
We congratulate the Borough on its decision of yesterday. It is a wise decision to make the most of the means at command for- the essential purposes of cleanliness, comfort, and health. The human element voted true, and having rather more than half the property on its side, was able to score a distinct success in the direction of self-preservation. As the ratepayers who have done so well can trust the local authority to see their excellent drainage scheme properly carried out, there can be nothing to add but a repetition of the hearty congratulation with which we opened these few remarks.
