Levin, December 13.
This township is in a very thriving condition. Several families have lately come into the district, and carpenters have been ' busy building dwelling-houses, stores and “ offices. ''The,two principal stores have just had verandahs 1 built, and the. County Council have been making great improvements .by forming the main street to its full width, and making about a mile of footpaths. v . ~ , ;The Church of England residents are working hard, to have a church built, and are to have? a bazaar on Tuesday. The ....Weßleyans- are also going to build; so wha£*‘%afe-d«nse bush four years ago will in anotheryear or two be one of the prettiest little townships on this .coast, ......... A second hotel is in course of construction opposite the railway station and on the main county road, and will be a fine building of over 20 rooms. - The State 'school children are going to " have a picnicat a pretty spot on the banks • r of : the lake pn the 20th. It is to be hoped the day will be fine as all are looking forward to having a great day.
