Why was Clsmranald raced at Dunedin when he was lame? Will “ Harry ” Goodman of Dunedin have . a continuance of the good luck he so well deserved, at the Forbury Meeting ? How could a protest be lodged against Mahaki for inconsistent running when he won the November Handicap at the Wellington Spring Meeting, seeing that he did not meet any of the horses engaged in the November Handicap in the Grandstand Handicap, for which race he finished second to Allan-a-dale ? Will Au Revoir and Monte Carlo fight their battles over again at Rangitikei ? When will it be known what racing clubs the recent Conference agreed.to “disband ?” The Conference Circular only gives the number in each Metropolitan district, but does not mention the names of the clubs! Why are the weights for the Hunters 5 Hurdle Race at the Lower Valley on a lower scale than the Hack Hurdle Race ? In the first named event Makomako has 9st 121 b and in the latter event list! When will the chief event at trotting meetings he for harness horses ? Trotters are not bred for riding purposes. Why has Frailty (the dam of Trenton) not been mated with St. Leger ? How many of the hacks nominated for Ashurst will win at Manawatu, the two days previous p

Why is the trotting pony Agnes nominated for the Pony Saddle Trot at Johnsonville, when the parties connected with the pony told the stewards at the November 21st meeting that Agnes could not trot a mile in five minutes in saddle ?

... When will breeders on the Wanganui Coast develop a penchant for the valuable strain of Stockwell blood ? More Stockwell and less Touchstone for a while would be good business.

Has Gunboat gained pace or Ascot Yale lost any - *since the Marton meeting on November 9th ?

When will the local trotting clubs make the distances even, viz., one mile, two miles and three miles ?

Will Mr G. Hunter win the Wellington Cup with Planet ? The defunct Cynisca won this race three years in succession for him.

Is there anyone about who fancies himself,at “ tipping” winners ?Ifso “ Gipsy King ” will let him have a try at his Christmas and New Year puzzle. Between the 26th December and 4th January he has-12 meetings and about 90 races to “tip” for, not to mention one or. two second day events, such as Rangitikei and Manawatu.

Why did the Town and Suburban Racing Club want to know, dontcherlmow, from the Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club who proposed at the Racing Conference that the T. and S. Club should be rubbed out? Another joke ?

Why did the Racing Conference consent to the Canterbury district retaining the extra day’s racing they are entitled to (but don t want) and snuff out the Ashurst (Manawatu) Club ? Nominations for Ashurst 97 for 7 events, nominations for newly-formed Christchurch Racing Club 45 for 5 events (6 for the big event). Comment on the necessity for one club needless.
