Mr O'Regan, M.H.R., returned to Wellington on Saturday after a week's sojourn in the up-country districts. On Friday evening he addressed a large meeting in the Foresters' Hall, Otaki, on the question of taxing unimproved land values. Mr Brown presided. Mr O'Regan was at the conclusion asked a great many questions, all of which were promptly answered, and at the conclusion he was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. Mr O'Regan leaves for the West Coast in a few days. A hungry thief was abroad on,Saturday night and stole a leg of lamb and a duck from Mr W. H. Quick's meat safe at the back of his house on Wellington terrace.
