At St. Mary’s Cathedral on Sunday morning the Very Eev Father Dawson, Administrator, gave an emphatic denial to the statement published in the newspapers that Miss Kate Marsden had been received into the Eoman Catholic Church. The Salvation Army hold a reception on Saturday night to welcome back Colonel Bailey and Adjutant Wilson, wlio have lately returned from the Old Country. There was a fair attendance, and the proceedings were of an enthusiastic nature. On Sunday afternoon a " Battle of Song,” similar to that held at General Booth’s Jubilee Demonstration at the Crystal Palace, was held in the Princess Theatre, when the hall was crowded to excess. In the evening a largely attended meeting was held in the same building, conducted by Colonel Bailey, and an overflow meeting at the Jessie street Barracks, conducted by Staff-Captain Edwards.
