AEEIYAL OF THE OBED BAXTEB FEOM NEW YOEK ' T-
The barque Obed Baxter, 877 tons, Captain Colby, arrived in the harbour on Sunday afternoon from New York after an uneventful voyage of 106 days. She left New York on July 7th, and with the exception of two or three moderate gales she had very mild weather. She passed the Snares on Sunday week and sighted Cape Campbell about 9 o’clock on Sunday morning. She arrived off the Heads, a few hours later, and was boarded by the pilot, who brought her to an anchorage about 330 pm. This is the first visit of Captain Colby to this port, although he has traded to the Colony for many years. The Obed Baxter brings 1450 tons of cargo'for this port and Auckland, the Wellington portion consisting of about 800 tons. Messrs W. and 6. Turnbull and Co. are the agents.
